We've had many groups booking some or all 5 of our cottages to accommodate their parties. Sleeping 24 across all the cottages, Bucks Farm offers a number of options for guests to come together for those special party meals, as well as their own space to retire to at the end of the day - perfect for multi-generation groups.
Our large open-plan cottage 'Harvest Keep' is the most popular base for the main catering events where (with some furniture shuffling !) we have had 24 seated at once - but other cottages lend themselves as venues too. Or you can make use of the abundant outside space......
On warmer days and evenings, you might want to plan your entertaining outside in the central courtyard. Or we have a large and open grassed area in front of the cottages and next to the swimming pool, for some added entertaining and activities space. One of our groups held their very own mini-Olympics on the green, complete with medal ceremony !
And why not make life easy and get someone else to do the cooking for you. Local professional caterer - Emma Ward comes highly recommended and can deliver pre-prepared food to you, or cook in your cottage on the night and serve to table. Just ask us for Emma's contact details if you'd like to hear more. Alternatively - there are local takeaways too !
There is lots to do at Bucks Farm - whether you're a group of friends, or a multi-generational celebration. Most popular is our fabulous heated indoor swimming pool (heated to 300C all year-round) and large fully-fitted gym. There is also a games room to suit all ages - with toys, games, books, also table tennis, mini pool and table football.
Animal feeding time is another really popular event of the day. Join us to feed the chickens, goats, rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as our pet sheep and Shetland ponies. Depending on the time of year - we'll try and find you some eggs for breakfast! Everyone is welcome to do as much or as little as they like.
Finally, if you do find time to venture out, the pretty seaside towns and beaches of Southwold, Dunwich and Aldeburgh are all a short drive away. The local market town of Halesworth is just two miles away, with lovely shops, delis, cafes and large supermarket, as well as great pubs, restaurants and takeaways.
