The local market town of Halesworth is just 2 miles away and offers a selection of shops, restaurants and delis plus regular local produce markets. It also has an established arts centre, museum and regular transport links to London and beyond.
Bucks Farm sits in the Blyth valley, which runs to the coast just 10 miles away. The river Blyth opens out to the sea with the pretty towns of Southwold and Walberswick sitting either side of the river mouth. Southwold is a quintessential British seaside town, with a historic pier and lighthouse, excellent shopping, the famous Adnams Brewery and lots of pretty beach huts lining the promenade above the sandy beach.
Walberswick village is quieter than Southwold, but no less interesting. It is a great location for crabbing from the little footbridges over the water inlets, and we have lines and nets to borrow at Bucks Farm if you fancy having your own crabbing competition! There is also a long shallow beach ideal for family swimming, grassy dunes and heathland to explore, or take the foot ferry across the River Blyth and walk into Southwold.
Heading further south into the county, there are many other places to visit including Dunwich, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Snape and Orford. With beautiful countryside and beach walks, wildlife and architecture to explore - don't forget we have bikes to borrow for some local exploring (including a tandem !).
